RARE! CIVIL WAR CONFEDERATE T.W. COFER & CO. PORTSMOUTH VA. IMPORTED PERCUSSION SHOTGUN

Original and very rare Civil War era Confederate Pistol maker T.W. Cofer & Co. of Portsmouth, Virginia imported 16 gauge double barrel percussion shotgun. This shotgun was imported and retailed by the famous Confederate Arms dealer and pistol maker T.W. Cofer Co. in Portsmouth, Va. These imported shotguns were used by the Confederate forces during the Civil War with great effectiveness. Shotguns with direct Confederate lineage are very rare indeed. This shotgun presents well on display and the only defects that I see are the slight crack at the back of one of the locks and the rib was glued back to the top of the barrels as it probably came loose at some time. These defects could easily be repaired if one so wishes. Overall a very rare and attractive Confederate T.W. Cofer & Co. shotgun.
