Original and nice late Indian War and Spanish American War issue Springfield Armory M1884 .45-70 caliber Trapdoor Rifle. This rifle is crisply cartouched and dated 1889 on its side and firing proofed P behind the trigger guard. The blued finish has not turned to patina and its block still remains nicely case colored. The wood shows only minimal handling marks and the bore remains excellent. This Trapdoor is way nicer than most encountered.
