SOLD CIRCA 1876 WINCHESTER 1866 "YELLOW BOY" SADDLE RING CARBINE
Original circa 1876 Winchester Model 1866 "Yellow Boy" saddle ring carbine. I'm sure if you are a collector you already know this gun for very good reason is commonly referred to as the gun who won the west. This carbine still remains in its original .44 rimfire caliber and is very attractive in appearance. It remains mechanically perfect and has a very good bore. Usually these remain in very poor condition as they had a long hard service life on the american frontier. The only issues I can find is the buttstock was replaced long ago with another original 66 SRC buttstock as it has a different s/n stamped on the wood under the tang. Also the barrel blue has been enhanced probably years ago. Setting aside these two issues original "Yellow Boy's" are so hard to find in any condition that an original Winchester 1866 SRC is a prize to own. This 1866 Winchester SRC is way better than most encountered.
